The Wisdom of Other Moms

On the blog Parental Guidance with The Star-Ledger (from New Jersey’s largest newspaper), reporter Elizabeth Moore talked about her son’s itchy rash. “As I fretted about the situation at our local pool, a couple of mom’s came over and examined my son’s arm. ‘That’s poison ivy,’ one of them said. The other mom concurred.”

Elizabeth noted that she discovered the wisdom of other parents. “They know about home remedies that work, over-the-counter medicines that don’t,” she said.

PS – Elizabeth, I’m glad to hear calamine lotion helped your poison ivy problem. Dr. Greene also recommends cool compresses with an astringent solution such as Burow’s Solution.
