Waiting and Waiting
Lauren, I’m very glad to hear Cameron’s PKU screen came back in normal range. The test looks for PHENYLKETONURIA, a disorder caused by a missing or decreased enzyme. Waiting on the results of PKU tests can be nerve wracking, to say the least. We’re also relieved to hear they ruled out congenital hypothyroidism. You’ve certainly had more than your fair share of things to worry about lately!
On a side note, thanks so much for sharing your stories about “Life after Postpartum depression.” I’m sure your experiences will help other mothers through their own mood swings after the baby arrives.

Thank you so much for your very kind words. I am indeed relieved Cameron’s tests came back negative. You’re absolutely right - the waiting is so HARD to do! I am also happy to report he is now thriving and so am I!
I often visit this site whenever anything comes up with my children and am honored to be mentioned here. I do hope sharing my story does help other mothers once their baby arrives. Sharing my journey is the least I can do!
Warmest,
Lauren
