Little Niko and Stefano picked up hand-foot-mouth disease, which is a common (but scary-sounding) illness that causes mouth sores, a fever and a rash. It’s a coxsackievirus infection that peaks from August to November. We’re glad they’re feeling better, poor little guys!

For little Marco’s parents: Yep, I agree… “toxic synovitis” sounds horrible! As we told Connor’s parents earlier this fall, this form of arthritis usually disappears completely within a few days. Sounds like Marco is already feeling better!

The Soft Landing Blog pointed out that a recent FDA report on bisphenol A (BPA) in plastics such as baby bottles was “prepared primarily by major stakeholders in keeping BPA on the market.” The draft report is being investigated by a congressional subcommittee, with the results due out this fall.
